Biography

Michael Culler brings over twenty years of experience as a classical musician to each on-site recording that he performs.  An avid vocal and choral musician, Michael understands the subtle nuances that make up a successful performance and is able to capture and restore the essence of the material he records using high quality equipment and his extensive knowledge of classical music.  Michael earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama, and a certificate in Audio Production from the Boston University Center for Digital and Imaging Arts in Waltham, Massachusetts.  In addition to his freelance business, Michael has worked as a recording engineer at the New England Conservatory of Music and the Boston University Tanglewood Institute, and during the winter of 2010, Michael worked as an audio engineering associate in the internationally renowned work study program at the Banff Centre in Alberta, Canada.  UPDATE: In September of 2010, Michael started as the new head recording engineer and studio manager for the Boston University College of Fine Arts.  While this takes up the majority of his time, he is always interested in new recording projects, so feel free to contact him with any ideas you might have!
